My Redeemer Lives

"I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me" (Job 19:25-27).

The book of Job is considered to be the oldest written book of the Bible, sometime before the Exodus of the Israelites and the destruction of Sodom of Gomorrah and probably written by Job himself.  Before the Law and the prophets, Job had faith in a coming Redeemer. The New Testament book of James mentions Job; "Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have hear of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy" (James 5: 10-11).

Job being maliciously slandered, accused, and in physical pain persevered because even if he died he has a Redeemer and even after his body decays he will have a new body given to him when the Redeemer comes in the Last Day.  Apparently Job knew and believed in the promise given in the Garden of Eden, that one day Satan would be destroyed, when the Redeemer came at the End of the Days.  Christ came and made this important statement; "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am" (John 8:58)!  Godly men of old knew of this One, and looked forward to His coming at the End of Times. Jesus has come and brought into our world and times the Kingdom of God, it is already here but not yet complete.  Completion of the Kingdom comes to fulfillment when Christ returns at the End of Time; "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and ll the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, form one end of the heavens to the other" (Matthew 24: 30-31).  This in fulfillment of Daniels dream and prophecy; "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven..." (Daniel 7: 13).Along with Job all who have died will rise again with new immortal bodies, Jesus is our guarantee for He died and rose again and is coming again.

Do not be discouraged, our hope of our resurrection is assured, for the same power that made man's body at first, out of common dust, can raise it out of its own dust. this body which we now take such care about, and make such provision for, will, in a little time, be destroyed. but soul and body shall come together again.  That body which must be destroyed in the grave, shall be raised again, a spiritual body fit for eternity; "..it is sound a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body" (1 Corinthians 15:44).

Pack up! Get Ready! Our Redeemer lives and is Coming and will bring us with Him into the Kingdom of God in complete fullness where we will reside with Him forever.  We have work to do, there are many who would respond to the Good News if only someone would bring the Good News to them.  Live our lives fully, Show the world that you Love God and they will see God in your lives and that is the greatest witness that the world needs to see.

Daily Prayer:

Father You sent Your Son to die for us as promised from the beginning of time.  He has promised to come again and bring us home, where home really is. I know it is assured, and I wish to be used by You to show the world that they too can have what You offer, eternal life with You.  Holy Spirit guide me to those You wish me to speak with about Your salvation promise.  Thank You for Your love is great!              Amen
